Easter weekend in Hong Kong with Beth and Marc

I had a week of work in Singapore and was able to take the weekend to stay with Beth and Marc in Hong Kong.

The weather was overcast for most of the weekend and my budget was limited so we spent most of our time hanging out, but did manage to get in a Foot massage... Love the foot massages!

We wandered down to an area of town which has 'lady entertainment'. We originally headed there to get some items for Beth's jewellery but didn't find the store. We scoped out some of the massage places, hoping for one without a happy ending. It was a bit weird in that you needed to buzz in and they would open the door.

Once in the door, we then needed to wander up the stairs to see the menu outside the door.

Having never been here, it was a new experience for both Beth and I. As we walked in, it was almost as though we were walking into someone's home. The bucket to soak your feet in was a wooden basket with a bag to contain the water. I was a bit shocked when the colour of the water was brown ~ Beth mentioned it might be tea ~ I had no idea and just went with it. After a soak, the water was tossed and flushed down the toilet in the room next to us.

Marc and Beth have a 2 bedroom place in Mid-Levels. It is in a very convenient part of town ~ there is an outdoor walkway down through the city and lots of shops, restaurants and coffee places on the way. It is very busy at night ~ although we didn't go out ~ it is the thing to do and realized that Akis would have loved it as this is the one thing that he misses with us being in Vancouver, the energy and life you see after 8pm.

Marc, Beth and I went to Sham Shu Po ~ I think I have spelt it right ~ and this would have been like leaving a kid in a candy store for Akis. Unfortunately I had no idea what he would have wanted, or what is a good price, so I left with no computer goodies, but Akis could have spent ages there!
